History
In 1988, John Morgan and Stewart Colling formed the practice that would eventually become Morgan & Morgan in Orlando, Florida. Initially, the firm was named Morgan, Colling & Gilbert after the founding partners and Ron Gilbert, who joined soon after.
In 2005 the partners split amicably, and Morgan changed the name to Morgan & Morgan. The name indicates Morgan's partnership with his wife, Ultima Morgan, a corporate attorney at the firm.
By 1992, the firm had expanded to consist of eight lawyers, ten paralegals, and a sizable support staff. In 1995 they opened a second office in Tampa. By the time the original partners split, the firm had 85 lawyers and 600 employees in Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa and Fort Myers and had begun to practice nationwide mass tort litigation.
The firm continues to expand into new practice areas and new cities.
The Morgans' sons Mike, Matt and Dan are also attorneys with the firm and regularly appear in television commercials.
